The Colorado Avalanche welcome the Minnesota Wild in their season opener on October 4th at the Pepsi Center in a showdown between Central Division rivals.

Hockey is finally back with a show down of fierce rivals.  The Avalanche and Wild are facing off in a season opener for the third year in a row. It should be a fun game with plenty of intense moments, so expect some fireworks. The Avalanche look to be handful as they have youth on their side and a chip on their shoulder.

The Avalanche have a good roster filled with young players who are itching to get the season going. The top line including Nathan MacKinnon, Gabriel Landeskog and Mikko Rantanen are going to be fun to watch as they are one the best line for this team.  Erik Johnson and Tyson Barrie will lead the improved defense as they face a challenge with the Wild, who  have a high- powered offense that will need to be  contained. The Wild will need to protect against the Avalanche’s high powered offense and exceptional speed.

The Avalanche are looking forward to the season opener and putting on a good show for the fans. It all begins on Thursday so buckle up its going to be a wild game between two teams .
