Here’s everything you need to know about the SEC West showdown between Mississippi State and Auburn, including how to bet and watch online.
Auburn is looking to win its fifth game of the young college football season and continue to climb up the rankings after losing to LSU in Week 3 but face a team in desperate need for a win in Mississippi State.
Quarterback Jarrett Stidham is looking to go over the 1,000-yard mark in passing on Saturday and take advantage of a Mississippi State defense that has future NFL players scattered in the front seven. The Auburn defense is one of the best in the country, ranked 16th in total defense and only giving up on 4.4 yards a play.
Mississippi State is going to play host for this SEC West showdown and after an emotional loss against their former head coach Dan Mullen and the Florida Gators where the offense was limited to six points. Quarterback Nick Fitzgerald has struggled the last two weeks and is only completing 49 percent of his passes this year. He ranks second on the team in rushing, however, with 318 yards.
The losses in back-to-back weeks to Florida and Kentucky have exposed the offense’s vulnerabilities as they’re only averaging 6.5 points per game, compared to 32.6 in their other contests. The Bulldogs will have a tough test against the Auburn defense to snap the two-game losing streak and get the offense back to producing at a high level.
