Real Madrid face Viktoria Plzen at the Santiago Bernabeu on Tuesday, Oct. 23. Here’s all the info you need to watch.

In the wake of another shock home defeat to Levante over the weekend and with El Clasico looming next weekend at title rival Barcelona, Real Madrid will look to bounce back and return to form as Viktoria Plzen visits the Santiago Bernabeu on Tuesday evening in a critical Group G matchup in the Champions League.

Real Madrid are winless in their last five matches, including a 1-0 defeat at CSKA Moscow on matchday 2 of the Champions League, and many are questioning whether manager Julen Lopetegui is the right man for the job. Until Marcelo scored against Levante, Los Blancos went scoreless for 480 minutes in all competitions, the second-longest goal drought in club history.

Real Madrid’s recent futility in the goal scoring department has caused many to wonder if Los Blancos will be able to elevate their attacking game and once again rise to the top of Europe’s elite club competition without their legend and current Juventus star Cristiano Ronaldo. Real will continue their title defense by looking to rely on Gareth Bale, Karim Benzema, Isco and Marco Asensio to lead the attack against Plzen.

Viktoria Plzen enter the match sitting atop the Czech First League having most recently drawn 2-2 against Bohemians 1905 on Friday evening. The Czech champions will have a tough task facing Los Blancos in Madrid having lost the last time out to Roma on the road in the Champions League by a 5-0 score line.

The last time Plzen faced Spanish competition on the road in the Champions League was in 2011 when the club fell bravely to Barcelona 2-0 at the Camp Nou in the group stage.

This match is the first ever meeting between the clubs in European competition and is the first of back-to-back matches between these two clubs in the Champions League. Real Madrid will make the return trip to Plzen to meet the Czech champions on Nov. 7.
