This week marks the start of the playoffs in many fantasy football leagues which means the pressure is on all those able to make the postseason.

Those of us who participate in season-long fantasy football know how tough it is to make the playoffs. You spend all year scouring the waiver wire and setting your lineup just to get to this point.

However, the playoffs often times end in a major disappointment. There can only be one champion which means the odds are stacked against us.

Over the past few weeks there have been some injuries that could have a major impact on the fantasy playoffs. We’ve seen the likes of A.J. Green, Melvin Gordon and James Connor be ruled out for this week.

The Connor news was especially painful because it happened right before the playoffs started. If you have Connor on your roster you likely targeted Jaylen Samuels on the waiver wire. However, Samuels was likely the most sought after waiver add of the week.

Gordon’s injury has also come with some twists and turns. Many expected Austin Ekeler to assume the bulk of the work. However, Justin Jackson saw plenty of action and made the most of his opportunity.

The Los Angeles Chargers don’t care about fantasy football and won’t be telling us their plans moving forward. This means that it’s a toss up whether Ekeler or Jackson will get more looks while Gordon is out.

Good luck to everyone who made the playoffs. Hopefully those on the outside looking in don’t have to any crazy penalty for coming in last place. We have all seen some painful results of having a bad fantasy season.
