Red Star Belgrade face PSG at Rajko Mitic Stadium on Tuesday, Dec. 11. Here’s all the info you need to watch.
Group C is the most interesting group heading into the final group stage game. All four teams can qualify for at least a spot in the Europa League but no team has officially punched their ticket to the Champions League knockout stage. On Tuesday, Paris Saint-Germain go to Serbia to play Red Star Belgrade.
Going to Belgrade has not been an easy task in the Champions League. Red Star have lost all three of their away games in lopsided fashions, including a 6-1 loss against PSG at the Parc des Princes but have not conceded a goal at Rajko Mitic Stadium. In their two home games, Red Star drew with Napoli and beat Liverpool 2-0. The Serbian champions cannot qualify for the knockout stage but could qualify for the Europa League if they beat PSG and Napoli beat Liverpool. Red Star can also play spoiler for PSG. If Red Star beat PSG and Liverpool win, the French champion will drop down to the Europa League. El Fardou Ben has had a great season for Red Star, scoring 16 goals in all competitions this season and will need to score on Tuesday if Red Star are going to beat PSG.
After winning their first 14 games of the Ligue 1 season, PSG have drawn in their last two games. Thomas Tuchel rotated his squad against Strasbourg with Neymar, Kylian Mbappe, and Angel di Maria not starting. Neymar is dealing with an injury but is expected to play against Red Star. The French champions enter the game knowing that if they win, they will advance to the knockout stage. Anything less than a win will leave PSG’s fate up to Liverpool and Napoli.
