With the release of Aquaman just around the corner on Dec. 21, it’s time for movie fans to start asking the big questions about how the movie will be released. Is Aquaman in IMAX?

Like most blockbusters these days, the Jason Momoa-led movie is getting the premium format treatment. Warner Bros. is making the film available in IMAX, both in the standard 2D version and the super-premium IMAX 3D version. Showtimes and ticket prices, as usual, will vary depending on the movie theaters in your area.

Figuring those details out, however, is relatively easy if you know where to look. The brand maintains its own website that will display Aquaman IMAX showtimes near you once you input your zip code; you can then click on the movie theater of your choice to purchase tickets.

You can also use the popular ticketing brands Fandango and Atom, either online or via each of their respective apps. Both are offering Aquaman IMAX tickets with just a few clicks, and will be pushing heavily for movie fans to get out and see the film opening weekend.

Whatever site or app you utilize, look closely when making your purchase, because most theaters are rolling out the movie as early as 7 p.m. Thursday night (though some earlier showtimes may have sold out already). It’s also possible that Atom, Fandango and even movie chains themselves will offer promotions tied to the film’s release, since this is such a highly anticipated release.

By the time opening day arrives, fans will have plenty of options to get their tickets and enjoy the latest DC Universe movie in all of its IMAX glory.
