The Clemson Tigers kept pouring it on in the first half against Notre Dame, with Tee Higgins hauling in an insane touchdown catch just before halftime.

With a trip to the national championship game on the line, the Clemson Tigers had to shake off some rust early in their College Football Playoff matchup against Notre Dame on Saturday.

Fortunately for Tigers fans, it didn’t take long for the offense to finally start clicking.

Clemson started to pull away from the Fighting Irish as the first half was winding down, but head coach Dabo Swinney wanted to add some more breathing room before halftime as time ran down.

With less than ten seconds remaining, Trevor Lawrence threw up a pass into the end zone to one of his favorite receivers in Tee Higgins. Despite a Notre Dame defender tipping the pass, Higgins was still somehow able to haul it in on a miraculous catch for the touchdown.

You can check out a video of the highlight-reel snag below.

That crazy catch helped Clemson take a 23-3 lead into halftime, giving them a great chance at reaching yet another national championship game. Heading into this game, Higgins had already racked up 52 catches for 802 yards and 10 touchdowns, so another score in such a big game wasn’t exactly surprising.

The fact that it came on such a ridiculous play, however, was definitely a surprise.
