NCAA Basketball: 5 Late Game Locks for Saturday March 9th

MICHIGAN @ MICHIGAN ST, 8 PM EST

The Pick: Michigan +3.5

This will be a revenge game for Michigan after falling at home to the Spartans, 77-70 in their first match up on 2/24. One of the better rivalries in College Basketball, these two teams will face off on the Spartans senior night with HUGE implications when it comes to NCAA Men’s Basketball Tournament, March Madness and the seeds these two teams will receive.

Both offenses have been lights out recently and can hit from long range, if you are interested in betting the over as well (O/U 136). Michigan has some impressive ATS statistics in recent history and against Michigan State specifically. Michigan is:

  • 4-1 ATS in their last 5
  • 14-5 ATS in their last 19 on the road
  • 4-1 ATS on the road vs. Michigan State in their last 5

Yes, Michigan State may pull this one off late but I still think 3.5 is a safe cushion even if that happens.

WICHITA STATE @ TULANE, 830 PM EST

The Pick: Wichita State -10

In their last ten games, Wichita State has gone 8-2 while going 7-2-1 against the spread including a 4-0 ATS record on the road. On the other side of the ball, Tulane has gone 0-10 in their last ten while surprisingly covering in 5 out of 10 of those loses (5-5).

They have gone 2-4 ATS in their last 6 at home and should be very clearly overpowered by the Shockers tonight. Ten points is not nearly enough for a Wichita State team that has been on fire.

TULSA @ MEMPHIS, 930 PM EST

The Pick: Over 157.5

An Over/Under of 157.5 is terrifying to watch because a single minute of scoreless action can completely derail your chances. An added fear is this game could be towards the end of your board with a need to recover or get ahead.

Then I found an interesting statistic, the over has hit in 10 of the last 13 meetings between these two teams. Additionally, Tulsa has hit the over in 4 of their last 5 road games and also the last 4 of 5 on the road in Memphis.

Memphis is on a bit of a cold streak, hitting the under in 6 of their last 7 but it might just take a battle against Tulsa to get them over that hump for a team that scores 81.83 points per game. Life is too short to bet the under.

SIENA @ RIDER, 930 PM EST

The Pick: Under 137

Life is too short to bet the under unless it is a game involving Siena. The under has hit in 12 of the last 15 games for the Saints. Siena can’t hit a free throw or three point shot and Rider is not much better.

Siena and Rider have also hit the under in 4 of their last 6 match ups. In their first match up this year, Siena took home the victory 59-57 (2/10/19) for a total of 116. Suit yourself if you feel these two teams have the ammunition to improve off of that result but I’ll be riding the under.

UC-SANTA BARBARA @ CAL POLY, 10 PM EST

The Pick: UC-Santa Barbara -8

Eight points is very low for the separation in talent between these two teams. I have to think Vegas is considering the recent struggles UCSB has had ATS and the Gauchos being on the road. In the last 10 games between these two opponents, UCSB is 9-1 and 7-3 ATS (3-0 and 2-1 ATS in last 3).

UCSB has struggled recently ATS (2-6 in their last 8) but have had a successful season overall (14-13). The Cal Poly Mustangs may just be the ingredient to get UC-Santa Barbara back on track. Grab this one at -8 before the sharps move it into the 10s.
