The rumors have finally become reality, the New York Giants have traded star wide receiver Odell Beckham Jr. to the Cleveland Browns.

Odell Beckham Jr. is headed to the Browns in a stunning trade that sees the Giants moving on from their All-Pro receiver.

Per Mike Garafolo of NFL Network, the Giants have agreed to trade their All-Pro wide receiver to theBrowns where he’ll be reunited with former LSU teammate, Jarvis Landry, sending shock waves through the NFL.

The two sides have been linked in trade talks for a while now throughout the offseason, but a deal between the two has finally been struck.

The five-year pro has had a rough time in New York and is now getting a second chance to work with a young star in Baker Mayfield, who is pumped up, to say the least about his new weapon.

The Browns have been aggressive during this offseason, overhauling their coaching staff and being active in the trade market as well as in free agency.

Per Adam Schefter of ESPN, the compensation for Beckham is the Brown’s 2019 first round pick (17th overall), the Brown’s second of two third round selections, and young safety Jabril Peppers. Quite the ransom for a wide receiver after the Steelers failed to get a first round pick for their star Antonio Brown.

This move makes a ton of sense for Cleveland as they now have a superstar for franchise quarterback, Baker Mayfield, to throw to, a star running back in Nick Chubb, and arguably the best defensive line in football.

To say this trade makes the Browns the on-paper favorite to win the AFC North would be an understatement. Could Beckham make the Browns a real threat for some playoff success? It is not out of the realm of possibility.

This aggressiveness is refreshing to see from a franchise that has been downtrodden for the majority of the last decade. Beckham transforms the Browns offense and only adds to the intrigue surrounding the team.
