3. Other teams on the rise

As we speculated it would in this week’s preview, Bate’s win should set up Moustache Mountain to be the top contenders for the NXT UK Tag Team Championship. Moustache Mountain however, are far from the only NXT UK tag team making moves.

An entertaining video shot at WWE’s UK Performance Center showed Kenny Williams and Amir Jordan continuing to grow as a team. Now that they’ve won two matches, Jordan believes the team deserves a shot at the tag team titles and that Williams should ask Johnny Saint for a match. For his part, Williams doesn’t understand why his new tag team partner keeps asking him to do things — first dancing in the ring and now this — something that should probably outright disqualify them from being anywhere close to deserving a title match. In fact, Williams will only “do something” for Jordan — which again, is asking for a title shot — if Jordan trains with him for an entire week and performs a really difficult-looking-when-you-have-normal-sized-muscles advanced pull up. After a montage of struggle, Jordan does it, and Williams is at last on board for anything. Anything except dancing. Baby steps.

In action, we get to see Primate and Wild Boar, The Hunt, make their much-hyped re-debut. They go up against Stoker and Howley, who look like extras from an Everybody Wants Some!! party scene. Despite Nigel McGuinness talking them up as a published model and someone who has been physically compared to Legolas, respectively, Stoker and Howley are disposed of rather easily by The Hunt. The vignettes did not lie, Primate and Wild Boar are rather nuts in the ring. Primate utilized his teammate’s body for offense on two occasions, once slamming Wild Boar onto their opponent, and another time winding him up to deliver a big spear in the corner. This interplay factored into the finish as well, with Wild Boar launching poor Howley into the air for Primate to catch and hit him with a belly-to-back suplex. They are going to be a chaotic force in the UK tag division.

Gallus — The Coffey Brothers and Wolfgang — also cut a brief promo at a pub where they seemed down on their luck after recent losses, but determined to establish their dominance. Clearly, they won’t be going anywhere either.
