Becky Lynch vs Charlotte Flair vs Ronda Rousey for Rousey’s Raw Women’s Championship is the official main event of WrestleMania 35.

For months, the hottest storyline in WWE is the ongoing feud between Raw Women’s Champion Ronda Rousey, Women’s Royal Rumble winner Becky Lynch and Charlotte Flair, which will culminate in a triple-threat match at WrestleMania 35. On Monday, WWE announced that the three-way bout will indeed be the show’s main event, ostensibly going on last.

Women main-eventing WrestleMania has been a long time coming, and there is no better time for it to happen than at this year’s event, given how high-profile the three women’s rivalry has become and how it has resonated with fans. This is coupled with the WWE’s re-establishment of its women’s division in recent years, which the company described thusly in the press release announcing the main event:

"At WrestleMania 32 in 2016, WWE re-branded the Divas Division the Women’s Division and unveiled a new Women’s Championship title. Since that time, the women’s evolution has placed a greater spotlight on WWE’s female Superstars, including more prominent storylines and deeper character development that showcases their athleticism, charisma and star power."

While it was known that the bout for Rousey’s title would be a WrestleMania main event — it had been hyped as such since the match was made following the Royal Rumble — the expectation was that it would be a co-main event alongside Seth Rollins challenging for Brock Lesnar’s Universal Championship. But that particular language was not used in the WWE’s announcement, meaning that the women will indeed close the show this time around.

And there’s no denying the “athleticism, charisma and star power” of Rousey, Lynch and Flair. Indeed, the words can describe each woman involved in the match and more than justifies why the hottest ticket in the company should also be its biggest show’s main event.
