The third week of conference play will see two series take place where ranked SEC baseball teams go head to head and one more with a team on the cusp of being ranked.

Each week is usually an exciting time to be an SEC baseball fan. This coming weekend will be no exception. There are nine SEC teams ranked in the D1baseball.com top 25. With so many teams being ranked, it means every series this weekend will feature at least one ranked team on the field.

There could be as many as 10 or 11 SEC baseball teams make the NCAA Tournament if the conference can continue to play at this high of a level. The problem the conference will have in getting that many teams to the Tournament is teams are going to be beating each other up over the next eight weeks of conference play.

This will be the case this weekend when two series pit ranked teams against one another. One additional series has one ranked team across all the polls and another SEC baseball team that is ranked in at least one poll.

If you need some high-quality SEC baseball to follow this weekend, you are in luck. And with the dominance of the conference, there should be no shortage of great series to watch as the weeks move forward.

Any rankings referred to in this page will be referring to the aforementioned D1baseball.com Top 25 rankings.
