NBA DFS DraftKings Playoff Edition Round 1, Day 1

Guard:

D’Angelo Russell @ PHI ($8,700)

Starting at the top, Russell is the most expensive point guard on the entire slate and it is not a crazy price tag. People will see the price, will see the defensive position rank that has Philadelphia ranked as the best team against opposing point guards and they will look else where. In order for Brooklyn to get to their projected 118 points, D’Angelo Russell is going to have to be massively involved. D’Angelo Russell averaged just at 30 minutes per game in the regular season, I expect this number to be pushed more toward the 34 minute mark today. No Embiid for Philadelphia tomorrow, this is Brooklyn’s chance to steal one from Philadelphia on the road.

Ben Simmons v. BKN ($7,800)

Simmons is the second point guard on my list today. Simmons is too cheap for his production without Joel Embiid so far this season. With Joel Embiid off the floor this season, Simmons is a 1.3 fantasy point per minute player posting a 24% usage rate, giving him a close to 3% bump. Simmons has been strong against Brooklyn averaging 43 DraftKings points through four games against them so far this season.

Jimmy Butler, v. BKN ($6,900)

Butler is a lock button for me tomorrow without Embiid in the playoffs. Butler is a 1.17 fantasy point per minute guy without Joel Embiid this season. Butler is going to push 36-37 minutes in this game and that projects him a heir over 40 DraftKings points. Butler is going to be popular, but I will be playing it.

Jamal Murray, v. SAS ($6,000)

Murray is playing in the playoffs for the very first time tomorrow. Murray is a guy that seems like he can compete on the big stage. Feel like a lot of people are going to miss on him tomorrow as the matchup is really good and the price is way too cheap. The regular season has less tough defense, but San Antonio has played Jamal Murray four times this year and Murray has averaged 37.4 DraftKings points.

Fade:

Lou Williams @ GS ($6,200)

This is the playoffs have to expect these games to be closer, but this game really scares me. The price tells me that there is zero way Lou Williams is going to be able to get there because they are going to get steamrolled. Lou is going to be popular tomorrow, but this is the postseason and the Warriors are at home. The A-game is coming and the Clippers simply are no match.

Value:

Spencer Dinwiddie, @ PHI ($4,700)

Honestly, don’t understand the price on Dinwiddie. Dinwiddie been a point per minute producer all season and he is playing in a fast pace game where Brooklyn is definitely going to be counting on him. Dinwiddie is too cheap for the upside in this matchup. Simply my favorite value play on the slate. Through four games against the Sixers this year, Dinwiddie has averaged 35.6 DraftKings points per game. Ignore what you read on these Brooklyn guards tomorrow, 76ers defense is very attackable, especially without Embiid.

Quick Overview:

Russell is a great tournament play as majority of people at the top of this position will take Stephen Curry. Dinwiddie is the lock of the slate with his potential output at the low price of $4,700. I am prioritizing Ben Simmons and Jimmy Butler over D’Angelo Russell, leaning Butler over Simmons due to price. Murray is very sneaky as a late hammer with a slower paced game.

LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA – APRIL 04: DeMarcus Cousins #0 of the Golden State Warriors drives to the basket against Rajon Rondo #9 of the Los Angeles Lakers during the first half at Staples Center on April 04, 2019 in Los Angeles, California. NBA DFS DraftKings Playoff Edition Round 1, Day 1

Forwards:

Kevin Durant v. LAC ($8,000)

Clippers have nobody to guard him, only way he doesn’t reach 40 DraftKings to pay off this tag is if he’s not playing in the fourth quarter. Which is a possibility. Averaged 55 DraftKings points in 35 minutes through four matchups against the Clippers through the regular season.

LaMarcus Aldridge, @ DEN ($7,500)

Struggled in the matchup in the regular season, however, I love playing LaMarcus Aldridge in the playoffs. The games slow down, he can regain energy and he becomes a major part of the offense for San Antonio. Aldridge has to be great if they want to win this series.

Ben Simmons/ Jimmy Butler – Both playable at the forward position, probably going to play them in this spot, because forward simply isn’t strong today.

Caris Levert, @PHI ($5,500)

LeVert is a tournament play for me. If Russell struggles, someone has to to should the offensive load for Brooklyn and LeVert is capable of getting hot and the price is not that expensive. Playing close to 30-minutes in the fastest paced matchup of the day.

More from FanSided

Fade:

DeMar DeRozan, @ DEN ($7,200)

I’ve never been a DeRozan in the postseason kind of guy. However, I think he is actually going to be popular tomorrow and it is screaming disaster to me in this matchup. Probably gets close to 5x because the price is too low but Im only expecting around 30 DraftKings points. Better options for me on this slate.

Value:

Andre Iguodala, v. LAC ($3,700)

Not going to get blow out minutes, however, it’s playoff time, Iguodala gets up for these games and the Warriors will play him close to 30 minutes. He’s only $3,700.

Center:

DeMarcus Cousins, v. LAC ($7,000)

Cousins is my top center on the slate. Kind of hoping that Golden State is willing to cut him loose. In two games against the Clippers this year he’s average 31 DraftKings points in just 19 minutes per game. If Cousins is going to play any where near 30 minutes he’s going to completely smash this price tag.

Marc Gasol, v. ORL ($5,400)

This is what the Raptors brought Marc Gasol here for. Gasol against Vuecvic is going to be interesting, think Gasol is going to get close to 30 DraftKings points in this matchup. Generally don’t love this game though.

Value:

Boban Marjanovic, v. BKN ($3,500)

If Embiid is out, and Boban draws the start, he is going to be the highest points per dollar play on the entire slate. If he start, I am not expecting 40-plus DraftKings points but my guess is he will play 18-20 minutes producing 30-plus DraftKings points.
