Where can you find this week’s episode of Game of Thrones online?

Things are a bit different for Game of Thrones season 8. In past years the show would often skip a week on Easter Sunday. After season 1, the show always took that week off, retiring an old episode rather than breaking out a new one.

Not so in season 8.

Maybe it’s because it’s the final season and the assumption is that there will be enough draw for the audience to tune in regardless. Many will, but here’s how you can watch it online afterwards.

The season 8 premiere built the basis for upcoming conflicts in season 8, but not all of them. The Army of the Dead, for example, was hardly featured at all. But they’re headed for Winterfell, so the question is can Torment and the Night’s Watch get there before them.

Most of the character introductions (or re-introductions) were taken care of in that first hour. But there is at least one important one coming in episode 2. Jaime arrived at Winterfell, but he needs to actually make himself known and establish a place there. In the PROMO for episode 2 there is a look at the ‘trial’ he needs to go through. He did kill the Mad King, and Dany means to see him pay for it. Of course he had good reason for doing that, but will he tell everyone, and will they believe him? On the show at least he should have Tyrion to vouch for him, whereas in the books that would probably be questionable at best. Jaime will probably survive the trial, he has work to do after all (killing his sister), but how it’s handled could be important going forward.

While the upcoming fight against the Night’s King has been labeled the biggest battle put on-screen by the producers, it won’t actually happen until episode 3. So it looks like much of the groundwork for that fight will be laid this week. Who knows, if they’re really planning on going for it the Night’s King could arrive just in the final moments of this episode, so the entirety of the next one would be the battle (and maybe some of its aftermath.)

This is the final season of Game of Thrones. You shouldn’t miss a minute, and you don’t have to.
