MLB Bets And NBA Bets – Thursday May 9 –

Good day from NBA and MLB Bets.  Yesterday was exactly even for MLB Bets while NBA Bets won with Houston +6.

Twitter play Oakland won in extra innings to even out the day after some earlier extra innings losses hurt our cause.  On the season MLB Bets remains plus 24.12 units.  The win is calculated by using 1 unit as the base for every wager, allowing for the odds on the lay and take.

White Sox  (+2.08)  can beat the Indians, 1:10 pm
The Sox are playing well in Cleveland.  This is another instance where the line is too high.

This pitching formation is another example of stats gone wrong.  Looking at the last 3 starts for both Manny Banuelos and Carlos Carrasco we find a seemingly lopsided comparison, clearly showing the Tribe and Carlos having the upper hand.

Carlos posts an ERA of under 4 while Chicago starting pitcher Banuelos is over eight.  So what gives?

Manny began the season as a reliever but has entered the starting rotation in his last 3 appearances.  His first 2 starts were great, hurling 10 innings allowing 2 earned runs, striking out 10 while walking four.

Then he had a horrible outing against Boston skewing his numbers badly.  So really these 2 pitchers are about even in strength, and Chicago being given such high plus odds makes them a play.  The team is competitive right now and in almost every way are on a par with Cleveland.

Had this line been a pick it would have been a no play for the system.  But getting  2-1 on nearly pick games has helped MLB Bets be successful so far, so here we go again.

Marlins stay competitive

Miami  (+1.81)  can upset the Cubs, 2:20 pm
Miami continues to out-perform their perceived relative strength and give top teams a game.  Splitting the wager 1st 5 and game is the way to go here.

Until today Miami has been fighting thru a negative pitcher formation.  Today that evens out and actually is slightly positive for the Marlins.

Trevor Richards is about 1 ERA better (lower) than his North Side counterpart Yu Darvish who has yet to regain the great form he had with Texas.  There is no magic here as Miami has yet to win a game Richards has started, but the numbers do slightly favor Miami today considering the starting pitchers and the high plus odds.

NBA Bets – Houston covers +6 in another close win

The Rockets won for us – barely – although with the injury to Durant the door was open for them to win the game and take control of the series.  That did not happen but NBA Bets still expects Houston to win game 6.

Because of the Durant injury there is no line yet on the next game.  NBA Bets will have more on game 6 strategy in tomorrow’s article.

We are still holding Houston plus 1 game in the series after successfully closing the adjusted series wager at  +5.40  before game 5.

MLB Bets Recap For Thursday May 10th:

White Sox  +2.01  half the wager on the 1st 5 innings +1/2 a run  and  half on the game
Miami   +1.83     half the wager on the 1st 5 innings +1/2 a run  and  half on the game

There are some other games that are close to becoming plays.  Seattle is one of them along with Texas as another possibility.
