It’s do or die in Boston as either the Stanley Cup will be either be in the hands of the Blues or Bruins by the end of the night.

There may not be a more exciting event than Game 7 of the Stanley Cup.

Playoff hockey is generally regarded as the best of the professional sports postseasons if for nothing other than its anything can happen atmosphere. That’s what we’re going to get tonight when the Blues and Bruins collide in Boston.

Only one team can leave a champion, and both narratives are fascinating. The Bruins, a historic franchise, is looking to add its seventh Stanley Cup banner to the rafters of TD Garden which would make them the fourth winningest franchise in hockey history.

The real story is the Blues. St. Louis has never been to the Stanley Cup, and they’re infinitely likable from the way the team celebrates by using ‘Gloria!’ to the ragtag nature of the roster.

Above all the narrative drama, there’s the natural drama of playoff hockey. Anything can happen in an instant and it’s the only sport where your luck can change with the flick of a wrist. Basketball has buzzer beaters, football has game-winning field goals, and baseball has walk-offs but nothing happens faster than hockey — and that’s amplified when it’s Game 7.
