The USWNT will take on Chile on Sunday, June 16 at the Parc des Princes in Paris. Here’s what to know before you watch.

The United States has the chance to clinch a spot in the knockout stage of the Women’s World Cup with a win Sunday against Chile.

The game comes five days after the Americans dismantled Thailand 13-0, setting a single-game goals record for margin of victory at the tournament. Alex Morgan tallied five of those goals.

The lopsided win, criticized by some as lacking sportsmanship, has given the U.S. the lead in Group F over Sweden, also with three points, thanks to better goal differential. FIFA has established goal differential as the first tie breaker should to advance to the round of 16 should teams have an equal number of points at the end of the group stage.

U.S. coach Jill Ellis shrugged off the criticism, saying, “Part of me is sitting here wondering if this is 10-0 in a men’s World Cup, are we getting the same questions?”

As for Chile, the South Americans are playing in their first Women’s World Cup and are coming off a 2-0 defeat to Sweden.

The United States, although not likely to score 13 goals in a game again, is a much better side compared to Chile. The Americans could very well put on another clinic given the gulf in talent here. The Chileans have been put on notice.
