The USWNT, fresh off winning their fourth World Cup, will be honored Wednesday with a ticker-tape parade along New York’s Canyon of Heroes.

The United States will celebrate their fourth World Cup title on Wednesday morning with a massive parade in New York City.

The celebration comes three days after the U.S. defeated the Netherlands 2-0 in Lyon, France. The Americans secured the win following two second-half goals from Megan Rapinoe on a penalty kick and a brilliant run from Rose Lavelle.

Head coach Jill Ellis and all 23 players, including striker Alex Morgan, midfielder Julie Ertz and goalkeeper Alyssa Naeher, will be feted in lower Manhattan with a parade, followed by a ceremony at New York’s City Hall Plaza. Mayor Bill de Blasio will present the players with the keys to the city.

The honor of a ticker-tape parade, which runs from the southern tip of Manhattan north along Broadway to City Hall Park, is usually reserved for New York sports teams. The USWNT that captured the 2015 World Cup was honored with a ticker-tape parade, the first time a female sports team was bestowed the honor.

“We’re crazy, that’s what makes us special,” Rapinoe told reporters after the win. “We have no quit in us, we’re so tight and we’ll do anything to win. It’s unbelievable just to know all of the people in our group that put in so much work: the players, our friends and family are here, it’s surreal. I don’t know how to feel right now, it’s ridiculous.”

Those who are planning to attend in person should expect large crowds along the parade route. The City Hall ceremony requires tickets, although the limited amount made available to the public on Monday have all been claimed. Expect street closures along Broadway starting in the morning. The last parade generated 30 tons of paper, meaning crews will spend the day cleaning.
