A preview of the stacked card awaiting us on the July 24, 2019 edition of NXT UK.

Since stomping onto the scene in NXT UK, WALTER has been a force. He announced his arrival at TakeOver: Blackpool by literally booting Joe Coffey out of the title picture. He planted his flag atop the brand at TakeOver: New York, toppling Pete Dunne and his historic reign as United Kingdom Champion. He formed a stable of like-minded European brutalists in Imperium, destroyed British Strong Style and began the movement towards a new era of NXT UK.

With Tyler Bate being pounded into big strong dirt and Dunne adrift somewhere in the ether, Trent Seven is the only fragment of British Strong Style — of the heart of NXT UK — left standing. Having helped to build the NXT UK brand from the ground into what it currently is, Seven takes exception to WALTER and Co. strolling in and acting like they own the place. To Seven — and to anyone with eyes, really — Imperium hide behind their mantra of, “The mat is sacred” and self-righteous desire to restore “sanctity” to professional wrestling. All of that is a front, a ploy to skirt around the rules for their own benefit.

As a result of this, Imperium currently hold all the power, currently running rampant over NXT UK. So, Seven is doing the only thing a man in his situation can do at this point: picking a fight with WALTER. Seven doesn’t even care about the United Kingdom Championship, he just wants a shot at kicking WALTER’s ass, for him, for British Strong Style, for everyone.

Two other exciting matches are expected to occur on this episode of NXT UK as well. After being shoved into the mud in retaliation for his interference in a match, which itself was retaliation for general bullying, Kenny Williams will take on Noam Dar.

Williams and Dar have a history together, most recently forming a one-night-only tag team that came within inches (centimeters?) of dethroning Grizzled Young Veterans as NXT UK Tag Team Champions. Any goodwill between these Scotsman however, is gone, lost somewhere in the eternal muds of Download Festival. Don’t expect either to hold anything back.

The other match is an historic one, relatively speaking. On one hand, it’s a fairly common type of match, but on the other, it’s one that’s happening in NXT UK for the first time. In the brand’s first-ever six-woman tag team match, Kay Lee Ray, Jinny and Jazzy Gabert will take on Toni Storm, Xia Brookside and Piper Niven.

To think the disembodied interviewing hand of NXT UK was worried Ray and Storm wouldn’t be in action at all until TakeOver: Cardiff! While that match for the NXT UK Women’s Championship is still a month away, this match is a chance for Ray and Storm to actually get in the ring together and progress their story a bit beyond Storm forgot to list off Ray’s name that one time.

Plus, the Xia Brookside and Jinny feud gets to continue on, with an added bonus of the dominant Piper Niven getting a chance to mix it up with the also-dominant Jazzy Gabert? Sign us up.
