Benfica face RB Leipzig at the Estadio da Luz on Tuesday, Sept. 17. Here’s all the info you need to watch.

The Champions League groups stage kicks off on Tuesday with Benfica hosting RB Leipzig at Estadio da Luz in Lisbon. Benfica were the champions of Portugal for the fifth time in six seasons last year. Meanwhile, Leipzig finished a distant third to Bayern Munich and Borussia Dortmund in the Bundesliga.

Benfica have won four of five games to start this season. The Eagles are led by a strong attack. A season ago, Haris Seferovic, Rafa Silva and Pizzi combined for 63 goals and 35 assists. The trio will again be counted on to provide goals this season. Pizzi has got off to an incredible start, scoring five goals and adding two assists.

The question for Benfica will be their ability to defend. The Eagles have reached the Champions League group stage each of the past nine seasons but have only reached the knockout stage three times. With a wide-open group, Benfica could reach the knockout stage for the fourth time in a decade, but they cannot afford to drop points at home.

Leipzig are looking to get out of the Champions League group stage for the first time in club history. In their first Champions League appearance two years ago, the Red Bulls failed to get out of a group that looks very similar to the group that they were drawn into this year. Leipzig have got off to a strong start to the season and are first in the Bundesliga after four games. The Red Bulls’ strong start can be at least partially credited to Timo Werner. The German striker has five goals this season and has seemingly elevated his play to a higher level this season. Werner and Yussuf Poulsen will lead the front two for the Red Bulls against Benfica.
