Chelsea face Valencia at the Stamford Bridge on Tuesday, Sept. 17. Here’s all the info you need to watch.

The Champions League group stage begins on Tuesday. In their first game of the tournament, Chelsea host Valencia at Stamford Bridge. The Blues finished third in the Premier League and won the Europa League last season but have got off to a disappointing start this season. Valencia finished fourth in La Liga last season despite settling for 16 draws.

After a disastrous debut under new manager Frank Lampard, Chelsea have picked up points in their last four games. In their last game, the Blues had their best game of the season, smashing Wolves 5-2. Tammy Abraham has had an incredible breakout season under Lampard, scoring seven goals this season. Abraham scored three goals against Wolves but also scored an own-goal.

The win against the Wanderers came at a cost, as Antonio Rudiger was forced off with an injury. Rudiger is arguably Chelsea’s best defender and his presence will be missed at the back if he is unable to play against Valencia. N’Golo Kante did not play against Wolves because of an ankle injury. If Kante can play against the Bats, he will be a significant upgrade in the midfield for Chelsea and should help provide cover for the back four.

Valencia needed an incredible second half of the season to qualify for the Champions League. The Bats won nine of their final 13 games to finish fourth after being 15th in the table at the beginning of December. Albert Celades’ team have again gotten off to a poor start to the season, picking up four points in their first four games. Despite the poor start, Valencia have a talented team that could go to Stamford Bridge and steals points from Chelsea. Rodrigo and Maxi Gomez will lead the front two for the Bats. Rodrigo had 15 goals and 10 assists in all competitions last season, while Gomez had 13 goals.
