Mark Ingram thinks Lamar Jackson is an MVP candidate

He spent his entire career with the New Orleans Saints, but Mark Ingram feels right at home with the Baltimore Ravens and Lamar Jackson as his quarterback.
Mark Ingram Jr. had spent his entire eight-year NFL career with the New Orleans Saints up until this offseason. The 2009 Heisman Trophy winner at Alabama went No. 28 overall to the Saints back in the 2011 NFL Draft, but now finds himself playing for a new team in the Baltimore Ravens and with a new star quarterback in fellow Heisman winner Lamar Jackson.
Ingram spoke with FanSided‘s Mark Carman about his new dynamic dual-threat quarterback in Baltimore, playing for a new contending team and of course, his favorite video game series Call of Duty. Ingram spoke with FanSided on behalf of Call of Duty: Modern Warfare, which is set to drop on Oct. 25.
“He’s the man,” said Ingram of Baltimore’s quarterback. “He’s always poised, the situation is never too big for him. Everybody in the huddle loves him, everybody on the team loves him. He’s a great competitor, a fierce competitor, wants to be the best, wants to be great. His energy in the huddle in contagious and it’s great for us.”
When asked what his favorite play of Jackson’s was so far this season, Ingram would offer this, “Maybe the one versus [the Kansas City Chiefs] where he rolled out to the right, made a linebacker miss, spun off the safety and got into the end zone. That’s probably the one that stands out to me.” In truth, there are just so many plays that Jackson makes that other quarterbacks can’t.
While Ingram does follow his former team from afar, he feels right at home on his new team in the Ravens. “It’s been great,” said Ingram. “It’s been a blessing. The organization has shown me a lot of love. My teammates have shown me a lot of love. The city is showing me love. So it’s been a smooth transition for me and my family. We’re happy to be Ravens.”
When Ingram is not helping the Ravens win games as their star running back, he enjoys spending time with his family and of course, playing some Call of Duty. “I’ve been playing Call of Duty since Black Ops back in ’08 when I was in college. So I’ve been running it for a while. I can hold it down. I can hold it down with most people.”
