Here’s the recap of all the high-flying action you may have missed from this week’s episode of 205 Live. Watch the Cruiserweights every Friday night at 10 PM.

Lio Rush vs. Oney Lorcan

“The Most Exciting Hour on Television” started off with the NXT Cruiserweight champion, Lio Rush in his first 205 Live match since winning the title. He is facing 205 Live regular Oney Lorcan (in all red, if you’re keeping track). Aiden English points out that Rush is representing two brands and that’s a lot of pressure for anyone.

Rush keeps control for a majority of the match, including a tope suicida that nearly put Lorcan into the commentary table. After this, Lorcan nearly pins the champion after he gets him into the ring. Rush reverses a power bomb and DDTs his opponent. English thinks it’s good that Lorcan is testing Rush so much since he’s representing two brands.

Rush hits the Final Hour to get the win and gets his first win on 205 Live in eight months.

Tony Nese comes to the ring to tell Rush that they missed his presence in the locker room. He also tells him his match against Lorcan was impressive, but last week he beat him and Ariya Daivari. Nese invites Rush to sit ringside and watch “a real champion.”

Tony Nese vs. Raul Mendoza

Rush is on commentary and says he took Nese up on his offer to see if he could be impressed. NXT’s Raul Mendoza faces The Premier Athlete for this first time. Rush calls Nese a cheater and thinks his abs are fake. He also says he came back to the purple brand because everyone needs to impress him.

Mendoza and Nese are evenly matched, even with Mendoza taking a few high spots outside the ring. When Nese is by the commentary table, Rush taunts him.

Nese holds Mendoza down in the middle of the ring and tells Rush to pay attention. Rush comments that even though Nese is impressive, he showboats too much. Mendoza takes advantage, proving Rush’s point.

Throughout the match, Angel Garza tweets at the champion. Garza wrestled Jack Gallagher on NXT this past Wednesday. After Garza won, he indicated to Rush that he was coming for his title.

Rush puts over both Nese and Mendoza saying they “both want it.” Nese sweeps his opponent’s leg and then goes over the top rope. After landing on his feet, he makes eye contact with Rush. Rush stands & holds his title up. He tells him that if he wins, maybe he can face him for the title. Mendoza takes advantage and gets the roll up pin. Nese is angry and yells at Rush from the ring that it’s his fault.

Where in the world are the Singh Brothers?

Sunil Singh won the 24/7 Championship on Raw. Sumir is helping him to retain. They are in a secret location and said they have to be found for anyone to get the title.

Kendrick is a grumpy veteran

The Brian Kendrick climbs onto the commentary table with a mic. He said you used to have to “work to become a professional wrestler” and the veterans had to tell you that you were one. Kendrick continues by saying you used to have to shake hands and introduce yourself. He goes on to say that you had to ask veterans to watch your match to critique you. Kendrick calls the fans “consumers.” He says the guys in the locker room “only care about social media” and are egotistical. He calls out Drake Maverick for chasing the 24/7 title. Kendrick will be on 205 Live every week until he gets what he wants, a match with Maverick.

Isaiah “Swerve” Scott vs. Ariya Daivari

Ariya Daivari also took to Twitter earlier in the day to announce he doesn’t care which brands guys are coming from, he’ll face everyone.

Swerve started to say this was his house when Daivari kicked him in the stomach. Scott quickly gets his opponent at of the ring and kicks him in the side of the face. This angers Daivari who beats him up around the ring.

Swerve shows off more innovative moves. He controls most of the match midway through. Daivari hits the uranagi, but Scott kicks out. He shouts at Scott that this is his house, but Scott takes advantage. The pair trade blows, but Scott nails a brutal kick to the head and pins Daivari.

Who will be the No.1 contender for Lio Rush’s championship? Will Maverick answer Kendrick?
