Fantasy football picks: Week 8 FanDuel GPP breakdown
Fantasy football picks: Week 8 FanDuel GPP breakdown
LA Rams – This is the highest priced defense for this week, and will be around 10% ownership, give or take. The Rams most recently picked up the best corner in the NFL, and as a result shut down the Falcons, allowing ten points, on five sacks, three turnovers, and a defensive touchdown. Of course, Ramsey did not have everything to do with that performance, but his presence alone makes a huge impact on that side of the ball. The Bengals look lost as a team, Dalton is terrible under center, and they are struggling on offense. They actually rank 30th in overall offensive DVOA, and 23rd in adjusted sack rate. While the Rams rank 4th in overall defensive DVOA, and 15th in adjusted sack rate. They also have one interception in every game expect for one, and have had only one really bad fantasy performance on the year. This is a great play in all formats, but will be low enough owned that we can really like them for tournaments.
Carolina Panthers – This is one defense that you will likely glaze over, but they have some great upside. They are priced very cheap, at 3.5k on FanDuel, and have four straight games of double digit fantasy points, despite giving up 20 or more real points, in three of those games. The 49ers offense is very average at best, ranking 15th in offensive DVOA. While the Panthers defense has been very good, ranking 3rd in DVOA, and second in adjusted sack rate, at a 9.4% rate. Sure, San Fran has a good offensive line, but how many weapons do they have on that side of the ball? Mainly just Kittle, and he will see plenty of Luke over the middle of the field, so I am not worried about him as much. This play could very well win you a GPP, if the stars align on the rest of your lineup, and they perform how I think they will.
