AEW Dynamite recap for Oct. 30, 2019: Clash of the titans
By Paul Bradley
Undertale
Next up on the broadcast was a six-man tag team contest pitting The Elite (Kenny Omega and The Young Bucks) against Kip Sabian and The Hybrid 2 (Angelico and Jack Evans).
A promo is played during Omega’s entrance which seemed to be based on the point of view of Omega’s heel character, The Cleaner. The dark promo is cast away by the arrival of Omega, who is dressed as the video game character Sans from Undertale. The Young Bucks also appear dressed in costume, which happens to be their Street Fighter outfits from Fyter Fest.
The Hybrid 2 and Sabian jump The Elite before the bell to start the contest. Omega fights off Angelico and Evans and hits them both with a double Kotaro Crusher. The Bucks work over Sabian and set Omega up for his Terminator dive but he is denied.
Sabian attacks Matt Jackson as the match swings in favor of the heels. Evans is tagged in and goes wild on Matt as he hits several strikes and locks him in an octopus hold.
Back from commercial, The Bucks have regained control of the contest but Sabian refuses to say die and hits a nasty Poisonrana on one of the Bucks. Omega saves the contest for The Elite as he runs in and hits three straight dragon suplexes on all his opponents. Omega goes for the V-Trigger on Evans but gets countered. The Bucks grab Evans and hit their signature powerbomb-into-the-corner-enzuigiri combo.
Chaos breaks out as the match descends into a free-for-all as Omega hits a V-Trigger on Angelico. Omega goes for another Terminator dive but once again gets cut off as Sabian mockingly goes for his own Terminator dive. Sabian’s version isn’t effective, though, as he gets caught and powerbombed onto the apron. Evans flies into the ring but gets triple superkicked for his troubles.
Omega smells blood in the water as he hits a devastating V-Trigger on Evans and ends the match with his finisher, One-Winged Angel.
After the match, The Young Bucks are blindsided by Proud and Powerful who run off before Omega can get to them.
This was an incredible showcase match for all the talent involved. The opening promo for Omega was a very interesting insight into his character’s headspace going into his upcoming match against Jon Moxley.
