Legacies continues its second season with episode 8 “This Christmas Was Surprisingly Violent” on Thursday night. Here’s how to watch the episode online.

It is time for the holidays on Legacies, and in keeping with the tradition of Christmas in The Vampire Diaries universe not going well, the school is once attacked by a monster. This time, the monster of the week is staying with the holiday theme as well.

Christmas episodes on TVD tended to be some of the most violent episodes of the series. The standout example being the season 4 episode “O Come all ye Faithful,” which saw Klaus kill all of his hybrids after learning that they broke their sire bond to Klaus. Not being able to find Tyler, Klaus kills his mother Carol Lockwood instead.

With the title “This Christmas Was Surprisingly Violent”, Legacies‘ first holiday-themed episode seems to be leaning into the holidays not being a fun time to be in Mystic Falls. It seems that Krampus will be dropping by for a visit, and it might force Hope to need to work with Clarke, who somehow still alive after being in the fake Landon’s body to die soon.

This episode is Legacies‘ midseason finale, so hopefully the hour will answer some important questions that propel the plot forward. Last week, the Sphinx talked about serving a new non-Malivore threat and revealed a prophecy in the form of a riddle that is sure to be a major factor in the back half of the season. The red hooded guys also remain a mystery, and the midseason finale would be a great time to reveal something about who they are.
