2020 NFL Draft: 5 players Bills could take in Round 1
1. Noah Igbinoghene
Jeff Okudah and C.J. Henderson are widely regarded as the top two cornerback prospects in this draft, but there’s an open debate as to who deserves to be No. 3. Igbinoghene has as strong a claim as anyone on that honor.
Whoever wins the race to be the third corner off the board stands a great chance of going in the first round. The Bills need to find competition for Norman somewhere during the draft. If they wait until Round 2 to address that need it could be too late.
Igbinoghene is still a little raw in terms of his technique, but he’s got nice size and athleticism for the position. His length gives him a chance to play a little bigger than his height might suggest.
Some scouts believe Igbinoghene is better suited to play in a zone system due to his lack of quick twitch athleticism. That’s an overly negative view of his potential. Expect the Bills scouts to see a lot of potential in the former Auburn star.
The Bills cannot afford to let Josh Norman cost them a chance to make a deep run in the playoffs. Selecting a better corner like Igbinoghene can help solidify this team’s most profound weakness.
