With the NFL schedule coming out tonight, it has leaked that the Philadelphia Eagles will take on the Washington Redskins in Week 1.

The 2020 NFL schedule is set to come out tonight, but leaks have been rolling out leading up to the official announcement. According to JP Finlay of NBC Sports, the Washington Redskins will host the Philadelphia Eagles in Week 1 of the NFL season.

It remains to be seen what time this game will kickoff, or what network it will be on. These teams met on opening day last season, when the Eagles came from behind to beat Washington 32-27 thanks to two DeSean Jackson touchdowns.

The last time the Eagles and Redskins opened up the season at FedEx Field was in 2017. Philadelphia won that game, its first win en route to winning Super Bowl 52. Washington has not beaten the Eagles since December 11, 2016.

Philadelphia is coming off an offseason where it saw veteran safety Malcolm Jenkins leave in free agency. The Eagles made headlines in the NFL Draft when they picked wide receiver Jalen Reagor and added quarterback Jalen Hurts in the second round.

Washington welcomed new head coach Ron Rivera this offseason. Rivera will team up with second-year quarterback Dwayne Haskins, who is looking to improve after winning two games last season. The Redskins added pass rusher Chase Young with the second pick in the draft and he will look to make an immediate impact.

Aside from matching up with each other, the Eagles and Redskins will take on the AFC North and the NFC West, in addition to corresponding division finishers in the remaining NFC divisions. The full schedule is set to be announced by the NFL at 8:00 tonight.

The Redskins lead the all-time series over the Eagles 86-79-5. The Eagles have closed the gap as of late and will look to continue to do so in 2020. Starting with the teams’ opening day matchup.
