Free agent moves the Las Vegas Raiders can make to be contenders in 2020.

The Raiders will break ground in Las Vegas for the first time this upcoming season. While winning the division will be tough with the reigning Super Bowl champions in the AFC West, this is still a team that could be a Wild Card threat. If the Raiders add these five players, they have a chance to be playoff contenders who can possibly make a deep postseason run.

Las Vegas Raiders sign Clayton Geathers

Bringing in strong safety Clayton Geathers, who played five seasons for the Indianapolis Colts, would be a smart move. Currently, the Raiders are slated to have second-year safety Johnathan Abram as the starter. Abram only played in the opener last season before ending up on the injured reserve list for a torn rotator cuff and labrum.

At the least, Geathers presence will push Abram and add depth. When the season starts, the Raiders will have their true starter at safety. Only then we’ll see if Geathers is an upgrade or if Abram deserves to be the Raiders starter. Either way, it is a good competition to have in Las Vegas to see who comes out on top as the true Gruden Grinder.
