Memorial Day means shopping, but is Jewel-Osco open?

Even though this Memorial Day is a little different (a lot different, let’s be real), one thing remains constant: Wondering if stores are open.

Illinois is set to reopen this week, but much of the reopening is slated to happen closer to the weekend. There’s also the matter of Chicago not reopening with the rest of the state, which means now more than ever during quarantine folks are wondering what and when places will be open.

Jewel-Osco is one of the largest grocers in the state, and while it’s remained open throughout the pandemic Memorial Day is an extra tricky day to figure out.

Jewel Osco Store Hours Memorial Day 2020

Whether you’re planning to pick up things for a barbeque or just to replenish your quarantine stash, you might be thinking about heading to Jewel. Luckily, the store will not only be open for business on Memorial Day, but will be operating close to its normal store hours.

Jewel is actually rarely closed on holidays, staying open for all major holidays except these:

  • New Year’s Day
  • Thanksgiving
  • Christmas Eve
  • Christmas Day
  • New Year’s Eve

Of course, regional stores operate at different times. This is doubly important to check on due to the pandemic altering those hours even further. Be sure to give your local Jewel-Osco a call before masking up and taking a stroll to the store.
