Former Boston Red Sox general manager Dave Dombrowski has joined a group whose goal is to bring an MLB team to Nashville, Tennessee.
After being fired by the Red Sox in September, Dave Dombrowski has finally moved onto his next job. He’s decided to join Music City Baseball LLC, a group that wishes to bring an MLB team to Nashville, Tennessee.
The group is creating a murderers row of baseball executives. Dombrowski will join three-time World Series champion Tony LaRussa and former Diamondbacks general manager Dave Stewart. The group is clearly committed to putting money into the project in order to achieve their goal. They are intent on bringing an MLB to Nashville by 2024.

Dombrowski has seen great success since first becoming a general manager in 1988. In that time, he’s had jobs with the Montreal Expos, Florida Marlins, Detroit Tigers and Boston Red Sox. He has won four pennants, two World Series titles, and two Executive of the Year awards.
Does Dave Dombrowski have what it takes to bring baseball to Nashville?
First hired when he was 31, Dombrowski has unmatched experience as an executive. He has had leadership positions in MLB organizations for over 30 years now and knows exactly what it takes to create a winning team. Dombrowski has had success with both small and large markets, putting together World Series-winning teams with the Marlins and Red Sox, while also keeping the Tigers competitive for nearly a decade.
He was fired in Boston following an extremely disappointing 2019 season in which the Red Sox finished third in the AL East with 84 wins. Coming off the back of a World Series championship, no one expected such a mediocre campaign from the Sox. After he failed to make satisfactory moves at the trade deadline, he was fired and eventually replaced by Chaim Bloom.
Despite his rough end to his spell in Boston, Dombrowski is a great choice for a new organization looking to make its way into the MLB. He will provide the expertise necessary for them to achieve their goal and bring a team to Nashville.
