PSG may lodge a massive transfer offer for Marcus Rashford this summer, but there’s no chance the English attacker will be leaving Old Trafford.

Marcus Rashford has turned heads all across Europe for his sensational play for Manchester United this season. It’s easy to understand why PSG would be willing to make a big offer for the talented attacker, but the French giants will not succeed in their quest to pry Rashford away from Old Trafford.

The Independent reports that PSG, and their manager Thomas Tuchel, have identified Rashford as a “top transfer target.” Tuchel sees him as the perfect complement to work with Kylian Mbappe and Neymar across his front three. Rashford’s ability to work without the ball at his feet would help balance out the single-mindedness of PSG’s other goal scorers.

There’s only one problem with PSG’s plan. Manchester United have absolutely no reason to entertain any offers they receive for Rashford. He’s exactly the sort of young, talented attacker the club wants to build around. The idea of selling him at the tender age of 22 runs entirely against their ethos.

That’s precisely why PSG’s willingness to make an offer of over £100 million is completely irrelevant. The French champions might have to double that offer to even solicit a serious response from United officials. Ole Gunnar Solskjaer and his coaching staff see Rahsford as an indispensable part of their current and future attack.

In fact, United are much more likely to spend that much money to add another wide attacker to their ranks this summer. The club are strongly linked with a big-money move for Jadon Sancho. The former Manchester City starlet excelled for Borussia Dortmund this summer but is very open to the idea of making a sensational return to England. Selling Rashford only to spend a small fortune on Sancho would only serve to tread water for a club that believes they’re on the rise.

It’s also important to remember that Rashford grew up supporting United. That, combined with the reality that he’s a model professional, means he won’t start itching for a move to PSG, no matter what sort of riches they offer him. PSG would need Rashford to become a problem at United to stand any chance of signing him this summer.

As it stands, United fans should feel very comfortable about the chances of Rashford returning to the club next season. He won’t be going anywhere anytime soon. PSG will need to look elsewhere for a player capable of balancing their star-studded attack.
