2. The New Orleans Saints will win the NFC Championship

Two years in a row, the New Orleans Saints have been the best team in the NFC and have come up devastatingly short of making it back to the Super Bowl. But, in 2020, the last ride of Drew Brees’ illustrious Hall of Fame career in the NFL; and final go-around for the Hall-of-Fame tandem of Brees and head coach Sean Payton; the Saints will make it back over the hump, and return to football’s biggest stage.

Like the AFC Champion Chiefs, the Saints have improved their offense this offseason, a move which seemed so improbable three months ago, by adding veteran receiver Emmanuel Sanders to a stacked offensive lineup that includes Brees, Alvin Kamara, Latavius Murray, Jared Cook, and AP Offensive Player of the Year Michael Thomas. Sanders is a perfect second wide receiver for the Saints and would have been an even more sought after commodity had he been playing with a more accurate quarterback in Super Bowl LIV. Instead, Jimmy Garoppolo overthrew Sanders in the big game’s final minutes, and it was the Chiefs who hoisted the Lombardi as a result.

In 2018, of course, the Saints missed the Super Bowl on the cusp of one of the most egregious official oversights in league history, with a non-call pass interference that negated a touchdown in the games final minutes, propelling the Los Angeles Rams to Super Bowl LIII. In 2019, the Saints inexplicably dropped to the Minnesota Vikings in the wild card round, after putting up only 20 points against an inferior opponent.

But, that’s not how this ride ends for one of the true legends of the game. Brees gets his return trip to the Super Bowl in his career’s last dance.
