In Monday’s game between the Chicago White Sox and the Detroit Tigers, an umpire took the ultimate sacrifice int he form of a wild pitch to the nether regions. You can watch the cringe-worthy moment right here.

It’s a bit difficult to fathom the bad luck that had to have happened for the ball to slide past the batter and the catcher and then land like a torpedo on the hanging berries of the poor man, but that’s exactly what happened.
The ball bounced in the dirt and then bounced off the glove of the catcher to make contact.
We really can’t say “ouch” enough!
At press time there was no score in the bottom of the fourth inning.
