JT Realmuto hits home run by the narrowest of margins.

JT Realmuto‘s three-run home run on Monday should be celebrated regardless but seeing exactly how close it came to being nothing more than an out makes it that much more special. Check out the moment the ball bounces off the right-field wall and then almost into Adam Eaton’s hand.

You can absolutely see the moment of pain in Eaton’s face as he realizes he’s let three runs slide right by. It was a matter of inches.

The homer put the Phillie’s up 4-1 in the third inning but there’s still plenty of time for the Cardinals to catch up, if they focus.

Realmuto happens to be one of the most talented catchers in all of baseball and this three-run dinger just furthers his resume.

And the best part is he looks like he’s set to stay with the Phillies for some time.

“It’s been a first-class organization all around, the way they treat my family,” he told Todd Zolecki of MLB.com in 2019. “The fans are tough in Philly, but they’re there. They’re passionate. They care about the game, which is the first time I’ve really experienced a fan base like that. Just this group of guys. It’s a great clubhouse. This team just jells. It’s a place I enjoy.”

JT Realmuto’s hot start deserves more recognition. light. Related Story
