DraftKings EuroLeague basketball picks October 14

We have four games on the docket for the DraftKings EuroLeague tournaments today. Yesterday was sliced to three because of COVID, but of course, it didn’t happen until after lock.

That doesn’t mean that there aren’t a few regular injuries still ailing these guys. Let’s find out the who and what.

Out: Greg Monroe (coronavirus), Janis Timma (coronavirus), Vladimir Micov (elbow), Nikola Milutinov (coronavirus), Stefan Jovic (ankle), Kevin Punter (leg), Jordan Mickey (coronavirus), Johannes Voigtmann (knee), Livio Jean-Charles (leg), Janis Strelnieks (hip/coronavirus), Yovel Zoosman (hamstring), Ahmet Duverioglu (facet syndrome), Melih Mahmutoglu (calf), Evgeny Voronov (coronavirus), Semen Antonov (coronavirus), Andrei Lopatin (coronavirus).

Questionable: Alexey Shved (undisclosed), Danilo Barthel (back), Jeffery Taylor (undisclosed), Leo Westermann (groin), Felipe Reyes (ankle).

Considering that Timma and Monroe popped positive, it’s fairly reasonable to assume that Shved’s affliction is similar. That puts the Khimki game at risk. If you aren’t willing to take the postponement risk, that cuts this to a three-game slate. However, considering both Monroe and Shved were out the first two weeks, it’s likely that Khimki has kept them away from the healthy players anyway. This is less likely to be postponed that yesterday’s games.

Barthel was close to returning in round 2, so it’s pretty safe to assume that he will play either today or Friday.

Both of the CSKA and Khimki games are risky, but they both played in round two despite positive COVID tests last week. I think they’re safe enough.

Yesterday the postponements sunk all of my lineups. We will see was DraftKings does about this, but for now, it’s a total loss.

Often early in the EuroLeague season we see about ten players playing half the game. The upside on everyone is capped except for the few elites out there.

For DraftKings EuroLeague, we can’t expect 5x value like in the NBA. Most winning lineups are around 180-200 DraftKings points, which is around 3.5 – 4x value. Keep that in mind when mining for value picks.
