In the marquee game of the Premier League weekend, Manchester United host Chelsea at Old Trafford on Saturday. United have gotten off to a very disappointing start to the season, picking up only six points in their four games. The Blues are also off to a slow start, picking up eight points in five games.
Manchester United look like they are starting to turn the season. In their last Premier League game, the Red Devils defeated Newcastle 4-1. On Tuesday, they went to Parc des Princes and defeated Paris Saint-Germain 2-1. Manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer will look to build on their back-to-back wins. Since Bruno Fernandes joined United last winter, he has been spectacular. Fernandes scored against PSG and has three goals and two assists in four Premier League games.
In the Champions League, Chelsea settled for a scoreless draw against Sevilla. Despite the scoreless draw on Tuesday, the Blues attack has been excellent this season following a significant summer investment. Chelsea have scored 13 goals in their five Premier League games. Unfortunately, for the Blues, they did not invest as heavily in their defense. Chelsea had to settle for their second 3-3 draw this season last week against Southampton and have conceded nine goals over their five games. The Blues will have to be significantly better defensively if they want to challenge for the league title.
