The Premier League returns following midweek European games. On Saturday, West Ham host Manchester City at London Stadium. The Hammers and Citizens both enter the game with seven points. However, City have played one fewer game.
West Ham had no business getting a point from Tottenham in their last game. Tottenham scored three goals in the first 16 minutes and looked like they would cruise to victory. Yet, the Hammers were able to rally, scoring three goals after the 82nd minute to steal a point. West Ham will try to extend their three-game unbeaten streak on Saturday. Jarrod Bowen will be a key player for West Ham. Bowen has gotten off to a hot start, scoring three goals in the first five games.
In the Champions League on Wednesday, Manchester City defeated Porto 3-1. Manager Pep Guardiola decided to start most of his regular starting XI. With so many games bunched together this season, Guardiola will have to rotate his squad and rest key players. The Citizens have gotten off to a poor to the Premier League season. Unlike in previous seasons, City are averaging fewer than two goals a game and have already conceded seven goals. Kevin De Bruyne is expected to miss Saturday’s game with an injury. Given City’s depth, they should be able to overcome the loss of their best player.
