Week 9 of fantasy football will be a major one, making start and sit options extra important.

We are just about to hit the halfway point of the 2020 NFL regular season, meaning we are nearing the end of the fantasy football regular season. As Scott Hanson likes to say on NFL Redzone every week, it’s nearing the “witching hour” of the fantasy football season. Times become scary here, as it’s an opportunity to make moves that totally change your season and get you into the dance.

As you attempt to make moves, there’s also the part where Week 9 rankings could help you start that turnaround to qualify for the playoffs. And it also happens to be a week where two of the biggest names of the past decade when it comes to fantasy football make their major returns to the field.

First off is Christian McCaffrey, who was the pound-for-pound No. 1 overall pick in almost all drafts this season.

McCaffrey was hurt in Week 2 and hadn’t played since. That changes this week as he is expected to return to the Carolina Panthers for a matchup with the Kansas City Chiefs. People were wondering if Mike Davis would carry value when McCaffrey returns. The answer is more likely than not a no, as Davis’ numbers have fallen massively that past couple of weeks. CMC is back to shine.

And the second return is that of Antonio Brown. Now a Tampa Bay Buccaneer, Brown is going to show that he can still not only play in this league but at a high level. This will be his first appearance since Week 2 of the 2019 season, as he played for the New England Patriots against the Miami Dolphins. What will Brown look like? That remains to be seen.

Here’s a look at the best start and sit options for Week 9.

Bye Week Teams: Philadelphia Eagles, Cleveland Browns, Los Angeles Rams, Cincinnati Bengals

Note: Superstars like Alvin Kamara and Patrick Mahomes will not be included on this list.
