Alex Trebek was an expert sports troll and Cubs fans will never be the same (Video)

It was a sad day for sports television on Sunday when it was announced that famed Jeopardy! host, Alex Trebek had died. He had been battling a public battle with cancer but seems to have been improving and had even hosted episodes of the trivia show he has been the host of since 1984. Many people have used this time to highlight some of the funny, heartwarming or downright amazing times that came from the beloved show and we’re no different.

One of the common running jokes from Jeopardy! was the contestant’s lack of sports knowledge but what we remember the most is when Trebek trolled the people playing the game and here’s just a few of those moments.

Jeopardy! and sports don’t always mix

One of the funniest was when Trebek trolled a Cubs fan about his lack of a World Series trophy. Clearly, this was before their most recent win but man was it funny.

There was also a time when the show trolled Kevin Durant Before Game 5 of the NBA Finals in 2017.

And here’s an epic football fail

It’s times like this, when people are sad about the passing of a beloved icon when humor is absolutely the best medicine.
