Michigan desperately needs a win, so they pulled out all the stops on their hype video.

The dissent around Jim Harbaugh is only growing louder after a tough start to the 2020 college football season. A Michigan team that once again had preseason hype has fallen flat, with a 1-2 record in their first three games of an already-strange 2020 campaign thanks to COVID-19.

Yet, Harbaugh can silence the doubters for at least one week should the Wolverines pull off an upset over the Wisconsin Badgers on Saturday night. Without Jack Coan, Wisconsin will turn to freshman Graham Mertz to step up once again, and hand Don Brown’s defense another disappointing landslide.

If a chance at an upset isn’t enough motivation for Michigan players and fans, this hype video ought to do the trick.

Harbaugh could be running out of chances

Harbaugh is a good football coach, but he hasn’t been able to aid Michigan’s return to prominence in the way the Wolverines envisioned when they hired him in 2014. The “Michigan Man” tagline can only go so far when you’re routinely losing bowl games and failing to beat Ohio State. A Week 2 loss to Michigan State at the Big House even turned typical Harbaugh apologists against him, and there’s no telling how long the athletic department will choose to deal with this fan impatience.

A rare night game at the Big House would typically serve as a way out for Harbaugh — an opportunity to take their early-season struggles out on a Wisconsin team without their starting quarterback.

Another loss against a ranked team at home won’t be deemed acceptable by Michigan boosters or fans.
