Jalen Hurts joined his former Alabama football teammates in the locker room to celebrate their national championship.
Jalen Hurts knows something about the national championship spotlight with Alabama football. He won a national championship with the Crimson Tide against the Georgia Bulldogs during the 2017-18 season.
The year prior, Hurts led the Crimson Tide to the National Championship Game against the Clemson Tigers but lost to a very talented Deshaun Watson-led team, 35-31.
Despite transferring to Oklahoma to finish his college career, Hurts has never stopped being a part of the Alabama football family. That was evident on Monday night when the Eagles quarterback celebrated with his former teammates in the locker room after they beat Ohio State in the National Championship.

Hurts was greeted with open arms by Najee Harris and the rest of the team, and it was a good sight to see. Normally, when a player transfers, they don’t have the luxury of going back to celebrate with their former team if it finds success. Alabama is different on and off the field. The relationships Saban builds with his players are strong. This is a clear indication of that.
When Hurts lost his starting job to Tagovailoa after the 2018 National Championship Game, he could have transferred after that season, but he stayed to help Tagovailoa develop into the quarterback he became for that team.
Hurts coming back to celebrate with the Crimson Tide speaks to the respect that he has for Nick Saban and the football program.
During Hurts’ career with the Tide, he threw for 5,626 yards, rushed for 1,976 yards and scored 46 touchdowns. He was the first freshman quarterback to start for Nick Saban, finishing fourth all-time in winning percentage at Alabama with a 26-2 record (92.9 percent) and is the school record holder for rushing touchdowns by a quarterback (23).
