The Ravens could look to address the trenches in the NFL Draft.

In terms of the 2020 regular season, the Baltimore Ravens weren’t quite the powerhouse they were in 2019, with some new holes in the roster rearing their heads as previous issues remained, giving the front office plenty to think about in the offseason after a rollercoaster year.

Most of the Ravens’ problems surround making life easier for quarterback Lamar Jackson, who got hot down the stretch having faced significant scrutiny for much of a campaign that did not hit the heights of his 2019 MVP campaign.

Protection for Jackson emerged as a concern for the Ravens. They would undoubtedly have performed better in that regard had they not lost left tackle Ronnie Stanley to a season-ending injury in Week 8.

But even with Stanley’s return in 2021, the Ravens will still need to fortify the trenches in the offseason to maximize their hopes of lifting the Lombardi Trophy at the end of next season.

More production from the offensive skill positions is a must for the Ravens’ offense to reach its full potential, with wide receiver likely to be an area of focus for Baltimore just two years on from drafting one in the first round.

On the other side of the ball, the financial problems posed by the impact of the public health crisis and a season played largely without fans may prevent the Ravens from keeping an extremely talented defensive front intact.

It would, therefore, be no surprise to see a franchise that has consistently done an excellent job of developing defensive talent use an early-round pick on a pass rusher.
