The Notre Dame and Florida football programs have announced a home-and-home series that will see the two storied programs play in 2031 and 2032.

The Notre Dame Fighting Irish are looking to add more competition to their schedules in the coming years. The program has announced a home-and-home series with the Florida Gators.

Save the date for Nov. 15, 2031, when the Irish host the Gators. The following year, the Gators host the Irish on Sept. 11, 2032.

Notre Dame schedules home-and-home series with Florida in 2031 and 2032.

The two programs have only faced off once in the past: on Jan. 1, 1992, when No. 18 Notre Dame upset No. 3 Florida 39-28 in the Sugar Bowl. Notre Dame does have a winning record against the SEC, sitting at 29-20 all time. Florida is looking to retool with recruiting and some nice transfers already landed. Notre Dame on the other hand was just hit with some recruiting violation penalties.

The Irish are coming off of yet another disappointing end to their season after falling in the College Football Playoff. Brian Kelly’s team made it all the way to the national semifinals only to fall to the Alabama Crimson Tide, 31-14. Florida finished last season 8-4 under Dan Mullen and took a Cotton Bowl loss to the Oklahoma Sooners. Mullen’s defense made it pretty tough for the Gators to succeed and they finished with their worst record in Mullen’s three years leading the program.

Both football teams will look to get back on track in the 2021 season but it looks like they’re already thinking farther into the future.
