Kentucky basketball freshman Brandon Boston blames officials for the Wildcats’ loss to Arkansas, their fourth straight.

The Kentucky Wildcats suffered their fourth straight loss on Tuesday evening when they fell to Arkansas in the final seconds, 81-80. The win snapped an eight-game losing streak in the team series for the Razorbacks.

Kentucky guard Davion Mintz hit a 3-pointer from the right wing with 12.3 seconds left in the game to give the Wildcats an 80-79 lead. Davonte Davis got to the rim and managed to get a contested layup off. It rolled off the rim but Jalen Tate was there for the rebound. His putback attempt was blocked and followed by a whistle with 4.3 seconds remaining. Tate knocked down the go-ahead free throws and Kentucky’s last pass was intercepted.

Tate finished with 15 points in the win for Arkansas. Brandon Boston Jr. led Kentucky with 17 points in the tough loss and felt that the refs took the game out of the players’ hands.

The Wildcats fell to 5-13 with the tough loss on Tuesday night. BJ Boston expressed the fact that he thought the referees decided the outcome of the game. “I honestly think it wasn’t a foul,” Boston said after the game. “I think the refs gave them that game. That’s all I can say.”

This loss had to hurt Big Blue Nation. Their team will definitely miss the NCAA tournament for the first time in a while. It’s been. Rough year for John Calipari, so much so, that some have called for a replacement.

Hopefully, the Wildcats can find a way to finish some of these late games and build some momentum to finish the season.
