With the NBA All-Star Game just a couple of weeks away, Charles Barkley made some comments on the event that are raising eyebrows.

NBA players, fans, and now the media are all making it clear how they feel about the league’s decision to move forward with All-Star events. Just a few days ago, four San Antonio Spurs players tested positive for COVID-19. LeBron James, Giannis Antetokounmpo, and Kawhi Leonard are among some of the players who have already expressed the fact that they don’t care to participate. Atlanta has been selected this year’s host city and its Mayor has already expressed her disapproval of fans traveling to enjoy the festivities.

Still, the NBA has decided to move forward. Yesterday, the league announced its lineup of events, all set to take place on March 7.

Now, members of the media are getting more honest in their opinions on why the league is choosing to still go through with its patented events despite the fear of COVID-19 rising nationally.

Charles Barkley sounds off on the NBA for All-Star activities

Ernie Johnson, Kenny Smith, Shaq, and Charles Barkley spoke to Adam NBA commissioner Adam Silver regarding the All-Star slate. Barkley is getting some heat for why he thinks the league chose Atlanta as a host city.

The TNT’s studios where the guys film their show are in Atlanta, Georgia. The Atlanta Hawks and State Farm Arena have also become league leaders in off-the-court initiatives and are one of the 10 organizations allowing fans in a limited capacity this season.

Chuck is simply saying what most of us have been thinking.

We all praised the NBA for how they were able to execute the bubble in Orlando last season, but this year is totally different. As of right now, there’s nothing that would lead anyone to believe that hosting an All-Star Game is a good idea but I guess the show must go on. We hope for the safety of all involved whether the show goes on or not.
