Skip Bayless’ reaction to Cowboys trading down with Eagles is absolute gold
By Scott Rogust
FOX Sports’ Skip Bayless reacted to the Dallas Cowboys swapping first-round draft picks with the Philadelphia Eagles.
The Dallas Cowboys were heavily projected to take either Patrick Surtain II or Jaycee Horn, two of the top cornerback prospects in the 2021 NFL Draft. However, both were taken in consecutive picks by the Carolina Panthers and the Denver Broncos. With no obvious choice available, the Cowboys decided to move down two spots with the Philadelphia Eagles, who wanted to take Alabama wide receiver DeVonta Smith ahead of the New York Giants.
At the time of the trade, FOX Sports talking head Skip Bayless reacted with the only tweet imaginable — a bunch of symbols that was meant to be read as swear words.
Cowboys: Skip Bayless reacts to Cowboys trading down with Eagles
While Cowboys fans may not have been too keen on the team trading down two spots with a divisional rival, there was not too much to be upset about. The Giants did not take a player the Cowboys were targeting, because they traded down to the 20th overall pick in a deal with the Chicago Bears.
Once getting on the clock with the 12th overall pick, the Cowboys selected Penn State linebacker Micah Parsons. Bayless was happy after the pick was announced.
Not a bad consolation prize for Dallas, which gets to improve the middle of its defense with Parsons, pairing him alongside Leighton Vander Esch and Jaylon Smith. Oh, and he can help combat Philadelphia’s offense, which now has Smith.
The Cowboys joined the Eagles to screw over the Giants, who ended up getting a premium draft package from the Bears to select Ohio State quarterback Justin Fields. Everything seems to be going fine for the NFC East teams on NFL Draft night.
