Patrick Mahomes is calling his shot and predicting a historic season for the Chiefs.

Move over Babe Ruth, there’s a new shot caller in town.

After the Kansas City Chiefs were broken over the knee of the Tampa Bay Buccaneers in Super Bowl 55, Patrick Mahomes is gearing up for a revenge tour that is sure to lay waste to any unfortunate team that crosses into his line of sight.

In fact, Mahomes is already on record with a historic prediction for the Chiefs season. Much like Ruth infamously calling his home run before he hit it, Mahomes is making a bold proclamation that he hopes the Chiefs turn into a season unlike one we’ve ever seen before.

This upcoming season will naturally be something we’ve never seen before. With a new 18-week season, the maximum amount of games a team can play in a season has been bumped up from 19 games to an even 20 games.

Of course, only two teams will play 20 games and only one of them will win it. Not only is Mahomes predicting the Chiefs will indeed win that 20th game, he wants the Chiefs to make history by winning the preceding 19 as well.

Patrick Mahomes wants Chiefs to go 20-0 next season

Mahomes spoke with Bleacher Report and dropped the mother of all quotes.

“The only record I have my eyes on breaking, which would be new this year, is going 20-0,” Mahomes boldly proclaimed. “It’s not really a record that can be broken, I guess you could say, but I think 19-0 is the record right now so being able to go 20-0 and be the first ones to do that would be awesome.”

Before we get into the prediction, we need to point out how amazing it is that Mahomes actually said twenty-and-zero in describing the Chiefs record. It’s subtle but the emphasis he puts on making sure zero is included as the amount of losses shows just how hardwired he is to never lose a game.

Kansas City has its work cut out for them this year, but coming off a Super Bowl loss is type of unnecessary motivation the rest of the AFC didn’t want the Chiefs to have. Not only did Kansas City lose the Super Bowl but it got absolutely embarrassed by the Buccaneers.

Keep in mind, he casually dropped going 20-0 while taking a break on the golf course. That right there should absolutely terrify everyone in the NFL about what lies ahead this season.

So when Mahomes says he wants that Chiefs to go 20-and-zero this season, he’s not saying it for kicks — he’s a football terminator that has just announced what his next target is and may the Gods have mercy on the souls of anyone standing in his way.
