Aaron Rodgers sounds incredibly uncomfortable discussing Packers Week 1 plans (Video)

When asked about his status with the Green Bay Packers for Week 1 of the upcoming season, quarterback Aaron Rodgers was playing coy during “The Match.”

Tuesday was not only the start of the 2021 NBA Finals, but it was also the day of “The Match” between Phil Mickelson and Tom Brady versus Bryson DeChambeau and Aaron Rodgers. There were no doubt plenty of Green Bay Packers fans tuned into the golf competition to see if they could get any update on Rodgers’ status for the 2021 season.

As Rodgers was in a golf cart, he was questioned numerous times by Brian Anderson, Charles Barkley and Larry Fitzgerald on whether he will be the Packers quarterback this upcoming season. Rodgers responded by coyly saying “we’ll see, won’t we?”

Rodgers has been hearing it prior to and throughout the competition, particularly from Brady, the Tampa Bay Buccaneers quarterback who defeated the Packers in the NFC Championship Game. During the competition, Brady was speaking on the phone with tight end Rob Gronkowski, saying that he was scouting “the leader of the Packers, [he] thinks.”

The relationship between Rodgers and the Packers reached its boiling point on the opening night of the 2021 NFL Draft. Prior to the event, ESPN NFL insider Adam Schefter dropped the bombshell report saying that Rodgers had no desire to play for the Packers any longer. Rodgers said during Kenny Mayne’s final “SportsCenter” show that his discrepancy with the team is with the front office’s “philosophy.”

Rodgers did not report to Packers OTA’s or mandatory minicamp, leaving Jordan Love as the “QB-1” on the depth chart. Interestingly enough, however, Rodgers was not listed on the league’s opt-out list on Tuesday, per Schefter.

Even with the opt-out deadline passing, it is still uncertain if Rodgers will even play for the Packers this upcoming season. When that answer will come is anyone’s guess. Until then, “we’ll see, won’t we?”
