New York Yankees outfielder Aaron Judge appeared to have trolled Houston Astros second baseman Jose Altuve following his home run in Saturday’s game.

The New York Yankees faithful got their chance to boo the Houston Astros when they visited the Bronx earlier this season. Now, it is the Astros fans’ opportunity to throw some jeers the Yankees way during their weekend series in Houston. Yankees outfielder Aaron Judge undoubtedly got the loudest reactions out of the crowd in Minute Maid Park on Friday, and he got his revenge 24 hours later.

In the top of the third inning, Judge crushed a solo home run to left field off Astros starting pitcher Zack Greinke to give New York an early 1-0 lead. As Judge rounded second base, Judge appeared to tug at his jersey, a jab at Astros second baseman Jose Altuve. Of course, that is in reference to Altuve pleading with his teammates not to rip off his jersey after hitting his walk-off home run in Game 6 of the 2019 ALCS.

New York Yankees: Did Aaron Judge troll Jose Altuve on his home run?

Judge and the Yankees have bad blood towards the Astros, who were found guilty by MLB of illegally stealing signs through the use of electronics during the 2017 season. Of course, that was the very campaign where the Astros won their first World Series title in franchise history and the year that Altuve edged out Judge for the AL MVP award.

The jersey pull by Altuve was the subject of debate after the Astros’ sign-stealing scheme was uncovered, leaving many wondering why the second baseman did not want his teammates to touch his jersey. There was speculation that Altuve had an electronic buzzer underneath his jersey, which has since been debunked by MLB, who said there was no evidence of that. Either way, non-Astros fans were not buying Altuve saying that he was too shy to have his jersey ripped off or the reasoning provided by teammate Carlos Correa, who said that Altuve had “a terrible tattoo” he did not want revealed.

Judge and a variety of other Yankees players have not been thrilled with the Astros ever since the sign-stealing scheme came to light. With Judge returning to H-Town in enemy territory, it definitely looked as though he was trolling Altuve.
